A third path for parents trying to hold both love and conviction.
Parenting an LGBT child while holding to historic Christian convictions is one of the loneliest places in the modern church. Two scripts compete for your attention: one tells you faithfulness means setting your convictions aside; the other tells you faithfulness means setting your child aside. Both ask you to abandon something God has given you to hold. There is a third path β slower, harder, and far more honest. It begins with what's already true: you love your child, and you love God.
You're not looking for permission to choose one over the other. You're looking for someone to walk alongside you while you learn to hold both.
That's what we do here.
For Christian parents carrying a real tension.
This cohort is for Christian parents who:
This is not a debate space. We don't argue about whether you should love your child β you already do. We don't relitigate Christian sexual ethics β those are settled for the people in this room. What we do is the harder work: learning to live faithfully inside a tension that won't resolve on this side of heaven.
Four sessions. One steady place to begin.
Format. Four couples. Four live Zoom sessions, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm eastern time. The cohort is intentionally small β small enough that we know each other's stories, small enough for the work to go where it needs to go.
Session 01 - TBD Understanding the Moment β and Yourself
Session 02 - TBD What Your Child Actually Needs From You
Session 03 - TBD Faith, Faithfulness, and the Long View
Session 04 - TBD The Parent You Are Becoming
The book and the cohort are designed to work together. You'll receive a copy of When Grace Meets Conviction as part of the cohort and we'll explore in conversation what reading alone can't reach.
Cadence. Four weekly Zoom sessions, plus quiet practices between sessions. The work happens as much in the days between meetings as it does in the meetings themselves.
Parenting Inventory. Before your first session you'll complete a 42-question inventory to help identify where you are carrying the most pressure and what kind of support will be most helpful.
The shape of the work. We'll move through the framework I've spent four decades building with parents in exactly your situation. We'll learn to recognize what's beneath the surface β the fears, the grief, the love that's harder to name β and to bring all of it honestly before God. We'll talk about what faithful presence actually looks like when your convictions and your child's choices don't align. We'll learn the difference between standing firm and standing apart.
This is contemplative, not combative. It's slower than what most curricula offer, and it doesn't promise to fix anything. What it offers instead is the company of others who are walking the same road, and a tested way of walking it.
Meet Rob Jackson.
I'm a licensed counselor with four decades of clinical and coaching work, much of it with families navigating exactly this terrain.
When Grace Meets Conviction: Loving God and Your LGBT Child is the book this cohort is built around β but the framework predates the book by many years.
I've sat with parents in this place. I've watched what works and what doesn't. I've learned that what most parents need isn't more answers; it's a wiser way of carrying the questions.

Be among the first.

If something in this resonates, you're invited to reserve your spot. There's no pressure to have everything figured out β only an invitation to begin the work with others who understand the road you're walking.
Whichever way you go, I'm grateful you're here. The fact that you're reading this page tells me you're taking this seriously β and that already puts you ahead of where most parents in your situation get to stand.
