THE MONTHLY BRIEF
From Rob Jackson and Icebergology™ | June 2026
This is the first issue of the Monthly Brief — my attempt, once a month, to tell you plainly what is happening in this ministry and what I believe God is doing in it. Thank you for being here.
THE BOOK
When Grace Meets Conviction: Loving God and Your LGBT Child is available now for pre-order on Amazon.
This is a book for parents who refuse the false choice between loving their child and remaining faithful to Christ. It is not a debate script or a political manifesto. It is a companion for the long walk — written by someone who has sat across from thousands of parents who are tired, confused, and afraid they've already made too many mistakes.
Fall 2026 is the release date. Pre-ordering now tells publishers this book matters. It also helps more families find it when it releases.
A WEEK IN COLORADO SPRINGS
I fly out Monday. On Tuesday morning, I sit down with Jim Daly at Focus on the Family for a broadcast taping — and Tuesday afternoon, I'll be in a meeting at Summit Ministries, which has been one of the most important organizations in Christian cultural engagement for decades. Two conversations on the same day that I don't think are unrelated. While I'm at Focus on the Family, I'll also record two additional interviews covering parenting and advocacy for children. I'll share air dates as they're confirmed.
On Saturday, I'll be speaking in a breakout session at the HOPE 2026 Conference — hosted by Restored Hope Network at the Focus on the Family headquarters — on June 12–13. If you're in the Colorado Springs area, or know someone who should be in that room, you can register here.
Before the month is out, I'll be leading two intensive sessions as well. June is full — in the best way.
THE PODCAST
Season 2 launches September 15, 2026. The title is Sexuality and Formation — 25 episodes exploring what the Icebergology™ Model of Christian Spiritual Formation actually looks like when sexuality is the presenting question. I believe it is the conversation the church needs most right now, and I am not approaching it lightly.
SOMETHING NEW IS FORMING
In the months ahead, I'll be sharing more about the Icebergology™ Global Initiative — a nonprofit effort to bring the Icebergology™ formation journals to Christian communities in other languages and cultures. Spanish, Portuguese, French, Tagalog, Arabic, and others are on the horizon. The journals are short, the sentences are plain, and the formation framework translates across cultures with very little friction.
And there will be other initiatives, including spiritual formation intensives for pastors and their spouses.
More to come on all of it — I want to say it right when I say it publicly.
A WORD
I started this work with the conviction that most of what drives human behavior lies beneath the surface — unseen, unnamed, and therefore unaddressed. The Icebergology™ Model is built on that premise. What I have learned in forty years of clinical work is that the same is true of ministry. The most important things rarely announce themselves. They form slowly, quietly, beneath the surface of ordinary obedience.
That is where I find myself this month. Grateful, attentive, and watching.
Keep watch,
Rob
