Coaching Agreement

This agreement is entered into by Rob Jackson, Founder and Lead Coach of Icebergology™ Coaching Academy (ICA), and the client (referred to as “you” or “client”).

Location and Time Length

At Icebergology™ Coaching Academy, I offer a flexible approach tailored to your unique needs and schedule. Coaching services are available via phone, Zoom Video Meetings, and, in some cases, onsite. You can mix and match these formats based on your preferences and availability. The typical length of a coaching engagement is four to six months.

Procedure

Appointments are typically booked online through ICA’s scheduling system. If you need a flexible schedule, I’m happy to assist. Prior to each session, you’ll complete an automated ‘Prep Form.’ This form helps me, Rob Jackson, better understand your current needs and make our sessions as productive as possible. At your scheduled time, I’ll either call the number you provide or initiate the Zoom Video Meeting.

Rescheduling, Cancellations, and Expiration of Sessions

If you need to cancel a session, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. I can accommodate valid emergencies, but sessions missed without prior notice will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Unused sessions must be completed within six months of purchase, unless otherwise agreed upon. After this period, any unused sessions will expire and will not be refunded.

Extra Time

I encourage contact between sessions and include this as part of my coaching services. You may reach out via “spot calls” (five minutes or less), email, or text for quick questions or updates. Clients who utilize this additional support often experience greater progress.

Fees

Payment is accepted via most major credit or debit cards. Please note that insurance does not reimburse for life coaching services, and no claims will be submitted by either party for reimbursement.

Problems or Conflicts

Transparency and honesty are foundational to effective coaching. If you have concerns or become dissatisfied at any point, please bring them to my attention. I will work with you to find a fair and reasonable resolution.

Coaching Process and Expectations

Personal growth and recovery are 24/7 processes that extend beyond our sessions. At times, you’ll have clear, tangible action steps to implement. Other times, the work may be more reflective, involving practices like prayer, meditation, or journaling. Commitment to the process is essential—embrace both the structured and softer exercises for the best outcomes.

Confidentiality

Your confidentiality is a priority. However, there are certain legal and ethical exceptions where I may be required to disclose information, including:

  • If you pose a serious physical danger to yourself or another person.
  • If you disclose that a child, elderly person, or disabled individual has been or is at risk of physical or sexual abuse or neglect.
  • If disclosure is required by law, such as through a court order or in legal proceedings related to the quality of care.
  • If you disclose information posing a threat to national security.

For further details on how your information is protected, please review our Privacy Policy.

Addendum to Coaching Agreement

  1. I understand that I am fully responsible for my well-being during coaching, including my choices and decisions. I may discontinue coaching at any time. Coaching is not psychotherapy, and professional referrals will be provided if necessary.
  2. I understand that coaching is a partnership designed to support my sobriety, wellness, and personal or professional goals. This process includes creating actionable plans that target these goals.
  3. I acknowledge that coaching may address various areas of my life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education, and recreation. Decisions in these areas remain my sole responsibility.
  4. Coaching does not treat mental health disorders and is not a substitute for therapy. I agree not to use coaching as a replacement for professional mental health care or substance abuse treatment.
  5. If I am currently under the care of a mental health professional, I have consulted with them regarding the advisability of engaging in coaching and have their approval to proceed.
  6. Information shared during coaching sessions will be kept confidential unless required by law or otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  7. Coaching is not to be used as a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. I am responsible for seeking appropriate professional guidance in these areas.
  8. I give Rob Jackson permission to document my coaching hours as required for credentialing purposes with the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI) or International Coach Federation (ICF). My personal information will be used solely for this purpose and handled securely.
  9. Dispute Resolution
As Christians, we agree to resolve disputes through biblically-based mediation and, if necessary, legally binding arbitration. This will be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation provided by Peacemaker Ministries. These methods are the sole remedy for any disputes arising from this agreement, except to enforce an arbitration decision.
